Attention: Do not open your storage array or attempt any repair before reading and understanding “Safety
information” on page iii

This topic provides instructions on how to install or replace an I/O module.

To install or replace an I/O module, do the following:

1. Disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to

the storage array.

Note: If your storage array has two I/O modules installed, you can replace the failing I/O module with
the power on.

2. Do one of the following:

• If you are installing an I/O module, locate the bay for the I/O module in the rear of your storage array.

• If you are replacing an I/O module, locate the failing I/O module in the rear of your storage array.

Then, loosen the screws and pivot them as shown to pull the failing I/O module out of the chassis.
