Installing a drive in bay 2 or bay 3

To install an optical drive in bay 2 or bay 3:

1. Remove the computer cover. See “Removing the computer cover” on page 11.

2. Remove the front bezel. See “Removing the front bezel” on page 12.

Note: There is a drive retainer bracket on the inside of the front bezel where the drive is to be located. If
there is no drive installed, there are drive retainer brackets for each drive. Remove the drive retainer
bracket and use it to install the drive.

3. Remove the plastic drive cover from the bezel.

4. Remove the metal static shield from the drive bay using your fingers to pull it outward.

5. Install the retainer bracket on the left side of the drive to be installed.

6. Slide the drive into the bay until it locks into position.

7. To reinstall the front bezel, align the plastic tabs on the right side of the bezel with the corresponding

holes in the chassis, then pivot the front bezel inward until it snaps into position on the left side.
