Step 15. Remove the motherboard by lifting it up.
Step 16. Place the new motherboard into the chassis, aligning the screw holes in the motherboard with
the mounting holes in the chassis.
Step 17. Secure the new motherboard to the chassis using the 4 screws.
Step 18. Attach all related components to the new motherboard.
Step 19. Reattach the EMI cover, back deco, the computer cover and computer stand.
Replacing the LED panel
Note: Turn off the computer and wait 3 to 5 minutes to let it cool down before removing the cover.
Note: It may be helpful to place the computer face-down on a soft flat surface for this procedure. Lenovo
recommends that you use a blanket, towel, or other soft cloth to protect the computer screen from scratches
or other damage.
To replace the LED panel:
Step 1. Remove the computer cover. Refer to “Removing the computer cover”.
Step 2. Remove the back deco. Refer to “Removing the back deco”.
Step 3. Remove the computer stand. Refer to “Removing the computer stand”.
Step 4. Remove the EMI cover. Refer to “Removing the EMI cover”.
Step 5. Remove the 4 screws that secure the LED panel to the chassis.
