2. Ensure that all internal cables are connected and routed correctly and secured by any cable clips or

ties in the server. Keep cables clear of the hinges and sides of the chassis to avoid interference with
reinstalling the cooling shroud and the server cover. The following illustration shows an example of the
cable routing in the chassis for server models with an optical drive and an internal tape drive installed.

• Route the power cable

for the front backplane through the middle of the chassis.

• Properly route the cable

that is connected from the optical drive to the front backplane.

• Properly route the cable

that is connected from the internal tape drive to the front backplane

and the AnyRAID adapter.

• Route the signal cables

through the left inner side of the chassis. The signal cables include the

following:

– SATA signal cable from the optical drive to the corresponding SATA connector on the system board

– Cable from the front panel board to the front panel connectors on the system board

– Cable from the AnyRAID adapter to the AnyRAID connector on the system board
