Operating Basics
Bluetooth wireless technology
Bluetooth wireless technology eliminates the need for cables between
electronic devices such as desktop computers, printers and mobile phones.
Bluetooth wireless technology has the following features:
Worldwide operation
The Bluetooth radio transmitter and receiver operates in the 2.45 GHz
band, which is license-free and compatible with radio systems in most
countries in the world.
Radio links
You can easily establish links between two or more devices. The link is
maintained even if the devices are not within line of sight.
Security
Two advanced security mechanisms ensure a high level of security:
■ Authentication prevents access to critical data and makes it impossible
to falsify the origin of a message.
■ Encryption prevents eavesdropping and maintains link privacy.

Please note that this software is specifically designed for the following
operating systems:
■ Microsoft ® Windows ® 2000 Professional
■ Microsoft ® Windows ® XP

1. Install:
On Windows 2000 or Windows XP, Bluetooth TM Stack for Windows ® by
TOSHIBA is not digitally signed, although it should be noted that this
does not affect its usage or operation in any way.
2. Fax application software:
You may find that you cannot use the Bluetooth TM Stack software in
conjunction with some facsimile communications applications.

Version 1.1/1.2/
2.0+EDR specification. TOSHIBA cannot confirm compatibility between
any PC products and/or other electronic devices that use Bluetooth TM other
than TOSHIBA mobile PCs.
