WARNING
Read and understand all instructions, warnings,
cautions, and notes in this sheet and in your owners
manual before you begin the installation kit.
*2012-up Models will require removal of OEM Shield*
1 DEF Tank Skid Plate #87030
A. Before Installation
1. Read all warnings and instructions completely and
carefully before you begin.
2. Check to make sure the kit is complete (refer to the
Parts List at the end of this document).
3. Only install this kit on the vehicle for which it is
intended. If anytime during the installation you
encounter something different from what is outlined
in the instructions, call technical support at (928)
636-7080.
B. Get ready to install kit
1. Prepare & install the kit skid plate.
a. Using kit hardware (Four 7/16-14 x 1” bolts,
7/16” washers & 7/16” flange nuts.) mount kit
large bracket to left (rear) side of skid plate and
kit small bracket to right (front) of skid plate.
Snug kit 7/16” hardware.
( NOTE: DO NOT TIGHTEN hardware at this time.)
b. Use a 21mm socket, remove both body mount-
ing bolts to the right and left of the Urea tank.
c. Using a hydraulic jack, place kit skid plate
assembly under Urea tank. Position both kit
mounting brackets under body mounting pads.
d. Use a generous amount of kit Loctie on both
OEM cab mounting bolts and install them
through the kit side brackets, then through the
OEM body mounts.
e. Adjust and center kit skid plate assembly and
tighten both OEM body mounting bolts to factory
spec.
f. Adjust and center kit skid plate and tighten kit
hardware (four 7/16-14 x 1” bolts, 7/16” wash-
ers & 7/16” flange nuts.) to kit large bracket to
left (rear) side of skid plate and kit small bracket
to right (front) of skid plate.
2. AMP Research / Tube Step Models will require
bracket listed below:
a. Using kit AMP bracket as template, drill two 7/
16” holes through lower body frame mount as
shown.
b. Install kit AMP bracket using (four 7/16-14 x 1”
bolts, 7/16” washers & 7/16” flange nuts.)
NOTE
Kit parts are *ONLY* to be installed with OEM Cab
mounting bolts. No Drilling Required!
