The Guard AOD 1.3 with its integrated ignition contact helps to protect persons
working with decomposition vessels. However, protection is only provided for per-
sons who are in front of the guard. When the Guard AOD 1.3 is used, a sample can
only be ignited when the decomposition vessel is correctly positioned within the
guard. The decomposition vessel must be placed in the holder, and pulled to the
ignition position using the knob.
4.3 Ignition Head
The Ignition Head is required if Guard AOD 1.3 is not employed. It has an ignition
cable that is connected to the remote ignition unit. Placing the ignition head on the
decomposition vessel makes an electrical connection to the ignition wire in the ves-
sel.
4.4 Further Components
Information on the Decomposition Vessel AOD 1.1, the Oxygen Filling Station C 48
and the Venting Station C 7030 are given in their operating instructions.
