Programming for Off-season
Curation & Maintaining the Channel Feed
‘Curation’ means featuring content in your feed that has
already been uploaded – using either your channel’s
archive or great videos from other channels. Curation can
be used all year long, but you are likely to rely on it more
heavily during the off-season since those tend to be the
quieter months for uploading original content.
Maintain your feed by curating great sports videos:
•
Make sure any content you post to your feed will be
compelling and relevant for your subscribers.
•
Set a programming strategy and plan ahead for your
channel’s feed activity when your regular uploads slow
down.
•
Use the ‘channel post’ feature and ‘like’ videos to
populate them in your feed.
•
Post the highlights or season recap playlists you’ve
created.
•
Add commentary to any of your channel posts to give
context for the videos you’re curating.
•
Curate videos from your channel, but also relevant
videos from YouTube that would interest your
audience.
Keep the feed active during off-season with
playlists, comments, and likes
