About the Inbound Servers Tab
You can set use the Inbound Servers tab to set up Transport Layer Security for
your inbound mail. The Inbound Servers tab contains a link to your TLS settings.
See “Transport Layer Security for Inbound Mail” on page 296.
Transport Layer Security (TLS)
Use the TLS page in the Inbound Servers tab, or the Outbound Servers tab, to
configure whether your mail is encrypted.
Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a protocol that encrypts and delivers mail
securely. Transport Layer Security is an industry-wide best-effort standard based
on Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology.
Sending encrypted mail uses more system resources and may be slower, but is
protected against any possible eavesdropping. Most senders only use TLS
encryption for sending sensitive data to established partners, but your company’s
security policies may vary.
On the TLS page you can view and change your current TLS settings.
