This section is aimed at qualifi ed technicians who,
after installing the product, will program the porter
switchboard using guided menus, which can be
viewed on the display by navigating the main menu.

The switchboard may be secondary or main.

• Set Simplebus when the switchboard is used as

secondary, as output from the LM-LM terminals
of switching devices Art. 1424 (Simplebus TOP
system) (see SBTOP/001DSMC diagram, page
110); or when the switchboard is used in Simplebus
systems with switching devices Art. 1224A or in a
system with a single riser and no switching devices.
CAUTION! the secondary switchboard cannot be
confi gured as a switchboard in parallel.

• Set Simplebus top when the switchboard is used

as main in a Simplebus top system, and therefore
positioned upline of switching devices Art. 1424
marking the zones/risers (see SBTOP/002DSMC
digram, page 112).

The secondary or main switchboard must then be
confi gured as:

1- SINGLE
2- PARALLEL
3- SERIES

1- Select single when the switchboard is the only one

in the system, or the only one serving a specifi c
riser.

2- If there are 2 main or secondary switchboards

serving the same riser, the parallel confi guration
means that both switchboards will be operating
with the same functions (see SBTOP/005DSMC
diagram, page 118).

The

fi rst of the two to answer a call will preclude

the possibility of the other one performing the same
procedure.

If one of the 2 devices is switched on or off, the

other will automatically follow suit.

Set the switchboard connected under the LS-LS

line of switching device Art. 1424 as Parall. LS-IN;
set the switchboard located under the LPin-LPin
line of switching device Art. 1424 as Parall. LP-IN.

For the parallel switchboard, switching to NIGHT

and the AUTOMATIC DAY/NIGHT function is not
possible (see “I9- Set daily mode”, page 57).

A

P should appear on the standby screen of the

two switchboards, indicating that the switchboard
is confi gured in parallel, in addition to the fi xed icon

.

3- If there are 2 main or secondary switchboards

serving the same riser, the series confi guration
means that only 1 of the 2 can operate at one time

C1 - Type of switchboard (Simplebus Top mode)

(Master in series), while the other is deactivated

(Slave in series) (see SBTOP/004DSMC diagram,
page 116).

To change a switchboard from master to slave and

vice-versa, see “U11 How to activate or deactivate
the main switchboards”, page 43.

An

S should appear on the standby screen of the

two switchboards, indicating that the switchboard is
confi gured in series, in addition to the fi xed icon

.

CAUTION!
- if fl ashes, it is indicating that the 2 switchboards
are not communicating correctly.
- if the icon ! appears, there is a problem with the
confi guration of the 2 switchboards (e.g. both master
or slave in series, Parall. LP-IN or Parall. LS-IN or

one in series and the other parallel).
-
if in a Simplebus TOP system (with switching
devices Art. 1424), both main and secondary
switchboards are present (see SBTOP/003DSMC
diagram page 114); for correct system operation the
setting “C5- Backwards compatibility”, page 62, must
be activated on all switchboards.
