Figure 4-5: Top Link Adjustment

Leveling the Hitch

1.

When unfolding the Seeder Hitch the hitch is lowered
to its lowest point to allow the wing fold locks to
unhook and clear. Before starting to plant, the hitch
should be leveled to insure that the center and wing
seeders have the same attitude relative to the field.
The seeder three point hitch top links should be
adjusted to allow the seeders to operate in a
horizontal configuration (See Figure 4-5.) The three
point top links should be equal to each other.

2.

Make sure the hitch clevis is adjusted for the proper
tractor drawbar height (See Figure 4-4.)

3.

Use the reference hole at the front of the hitch as a
guide to level the hitch for planting operations (See
Figure 4-6.)
The wear pad (inside the hitch tube) will
be visible from the tractor seat as it slides by the
reference hole. When the pad shows completely in
the reference hole the hitch should be level. Do not
insert any objects in the reference hole as the wear
pad slides over these holes and could damage the
hitch.
