Example – Input Event Task

As parts move past a diverter location, the controller logic determines whether to

turn on the diverter. Once the diverter is on, the controller must also turn it off

before the next part is in that position. Because of the speed of the line, an event

task controls the diverter.

A photoeye at the diverter position indicates when

a part is in the diverter position. In this example

the input is wired to the module in slot 4 of the

local chassis.

The diverter photoeye (point 0) is configured

for change of state for both Off and On.

This lets the photoeye trigger the event task

when it turns on and when it turns off.
