A tolerance file is required. Vision directs the
user to the proper file directory and name
format.

Click “OK”.

Vision requests a tolerance file. The tolerance
file was loaded in the C:\Vision directory, and is
an “XDA” formatted file.

Recent versions of Vision may contain a file
with a higher number, such as
“IPVXDS04.XDA.” This merely indicates that the
file supports additional instruments. The
tolerances for this instrument are identical from
one tolerance file release to another.

Select this file and click “Open”.

Vision displays the wavelength regions for test.

For transmission instruments, these regions give
a good overall picture of instrument
performance and repeatability. The wavelength
areas are chosen in flat parts of the standard
spectra for stability.

For Number of Replicates, enter “1” as in IPV
Setup. (Vision defaults to “1” for this unit.)

Because the fiber optics attenuate signals above
roughly 2200 nm, the test only covers for
wavelength regions as shown.

Click on “OK”.

Vision will begin to take an instrument
reference scan. The split-screen display is
shown.

The red progress bar at the bottom of the
screen indicates status.
