6. Troubleshooting

Problem

Cause

Solution

Bin sweep will not

operate.

• loose belt, shortage of oil, or a

kink or blockage of the suction line

between tank and pump

• check these items and correct as

required

Bin sweep keeps

kicking out.

• in rare instances, the kick down

valve may be over tightened into

the aluminium block of the relief

valve and will not reset

• loosen valve 1/8 turn using 7/8”

wrench

Rate of travel is too

fast.

• bin sweep was not started by dig-

ging flighting down to the floor

• try slowing the rotation speed of

the flighting slightly if the problem

persists

Rate of travel is too

slow.

• the rubber bumpers are not touch-

ing the bin floor and more than 4

sections of flighting are being

used

• add optional drive wheel, or reset

the rubber bumpers

• add a 6.3 hp motor (part number

990100PRP)

Foaming oil.

• air in oil due to loose fitting

• check the fittings

Runs too hot.

• return hose has collapsed

• wrong type of oil—use automatic

transmission oil

Supersweep keeps

flipping over.

• walking shoe installed backwards • correctly install walking shoe

• bushings are binding

• add universal joint backboard sec-

tion (part #2600021)

• unhook and check that flighting

turns smoothly; if not, replace

bushings

Bin sweep wants to

pull apart.

• pig tails not tight

• bend in to tighten

• lock kit is not installed properly

• make sure pin is installed
