Changing the Seed Box or 82 bu.
Hopper

Note: The 3PYP accepts only the Great Plains 82 bushel

hopper or bulk seed boxes that meet the Pioneer

PROBOX

®

specification.

Tipping Hazard:
Place or remove an 82 bushel hopper only when empty. A full
hopper can weigh over 5000 pounds, which is above the lifting
and balance capability of most tractors and farm forklifts.

1.

Park the planter in an area with level ground and
sufficient room to maneuver a tractor or fork-loader.

2.

Turn off the seed box fan.

3.

Put the towing tractor in Park. Shut off engine.
Remove key.

4.

Close the slide gate at the base of the hopper or
seed box.

Refer to Figure 36

5.

Remove the walkboard lock pin

.

6.

Swing the walkboard completely open and secure
with keeper.

Refer to Figure 36

7.

Remove the two pins

, one back left, one right

front, used to retain the seed box or hopper. Remove
these pins even if no container is presently mounted.
