Fill three or more compartments at least

seed in the native grass box. Pull seed hoses off
openers under the compartments.
6.
Turn gauge wheel or crank several times to fill seed
cups with seed. Turn wheel or crank until seed falls
to the ground from each cup.

Place empty container under the seed tubes to
gather the seed as it is metered.
8.
Note the Drive Type (see Figure 15), and native
Grass sprocket pair (see Figure 16 on page 17). This
information is needed for step 9 and for the calcula-
tions later.
9.
Rotate crank or gauge wheel for one acre, either as
tallied on the Acremeter, or as counted, based on the
table at right.
10. Check that the three seed cups have plenty of seed
coming into them.
This calibration procedure is shown in example on
page 18.
11. Weigh metered seed, and subtract the initial weight
of the container. Divide this number by 3 (number of
cups metered).
12. Multiply by the number of openers on the drill. This
equals the pounds per acre at this drive setting.
Refer to the formulas on page 18.
Note: Refer to the drive setting charts on page 19, the
numbers listed are the number of revolutions of
the native grass meter shaft at a particular drive
type and sprocket range.
13. To adjust this number, take the pounds per acre
divided by the shaft revolutions. This is the pounds
per shaft revolution.
Note: These settings are based on 9.5L-15 tires inflated
to factory specifications.
