Hitch Extension Installation

On tractors with oversize tires, or unusual wheel bases,
the rear tractor tires may be too close to (or touch) drill
components when directly hitched. In this case, a hitch
extension kit (page 61) is available.

Great Plains CPH, PFH or SSH accessory hitches are not
compatible with the 3P806NT.

Mount the extension on the drill before hitching to the
tractor.

Crushing Hazard:
You may be severely injured or killed by being crushed
between the tractor and drill. Do not stand or place any part of
your body between drill and moving tractor. Stop tractor
engine and set park brake before installing hitch pins.

Refer to Figure 67
1.

Remove hitch pins from drill.

2.

Use a lift or hoist (typically at the pin hole in the front
top link

). Bring the extension upright and lift it high

enough to engage the rear top link

with the drill

3-point top link

. Secure with pin at drill.

3.

With the assistance of the hoist, align lower rear
points of extension

with lower drill points

.

Secure with pins.

4.

The lift or hoist may be removed.

Once installed the extension may be left installed on the
drill at unhitching, as it is secured at all three points on
the drill.

Equipment Damage Risk:
When hitching, with or without a hitch extension, the tractor
top link is unused. Full 3-point operation is incompatible with
lift-assist. The extension hitch is mounted to the tractor on the
lower 3-point lift arms only; using the extension for 2-point
lifting.
