13.3-Inch LCD Inverter Board

To remove the 13.3-inch inverter board, follow these steps:
1. Remove the front bezel.
See “13.3-Inch LCD Front Bezel” found earlier in this section.
2. Remove the LCD panel.
See the previous subsection, “13.3-Inch LCD Panel.”
3. Remove the inverter board from the four tabs holding it to the back cover.
Turn the board over so that the board’s components are facing up.
4. Disconnect the inverter cable from connector CN1 on the inverter board and
remove the cable.
5. Remove the inverter board from the back cover.
The bracket does not have to be taken off to remove the inverter board.
When reinstalling the inverter board, connect the LCD panel cable to the
inverter board connector, CN1, before reinstalling the bracket. Turn the board
over with the components side facing the back cover and secure the board with
the tabs. There are four tabs that hold the inverter board in place. The inverter
board has locating holes in the upper-left corner and lower-right corner. Replace
the tape on the back of the board.
When replacing the inverter board, make sure you have the correct board. The
inverter board for a 13.3-inch IBM LCD assembly is different from the inverter
board for a 13.3-inch Samsung LCD assembly.
