Removing a DIMM

To remove a DIMM, perform the following steps:

1.

Remove the computer cover according to the instructions in “Removing and
Replacing the Computer Cover” found earlier in this chapter.

Rotate the power supply according to the instructions in “Rotating the Power
Supply Away From the System Board” found earlier in this chapter.

3.

Press outward on the plastic securing clips at each end of the DIMM socket until

4.

Rotate the power supply back into place, replace the computer cover, and
reconnect your computer and devices to their electrical outlets and turn them on.

5.

Reboot the computer system, and press <Del> when the blue Dell logo screen

appears to enter the system setup program. Verify that the amount displayed for
Total Memory on the Main screen is correct.

Replacing the System Battery

A 3.0-V CR2032 coin-cell battery mounted in a system board socket (see Figure 2-

maintains system configuration, date, and time information. The battery can last sev-
eral years.

after turning on the system, replace the battery.
