Replacing the Hard Drive

 

 

 

 

1.

Slide the hard drive into the hard-drive bracket.

 

2.

Replace the two hard-drive bracket screws to secure the hard drive to the hard drive bracket.

 

3.

Slide the hard drive into the hard drive connector until the drive is fully seated.

 

4.

Replace the hard-drive compartment cover, aligning the notches.

 

5.

Replace the M2.5 x 5-mm screw to secure the cover.

 

6.

Install the operating system for your computer, as needed. For information about reinstalling the operating system, see the Setup and Quick Reference

7.

Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions that shipped with your computer.

NOTICE:

Hard drives are extremely fragile. Exercise care when handling the hard drive.

NOTICE:

Use firm and even pressure to slide the hard drive into place. Excessive force may result in damage to the connector.

NOTE:

This procedure assumes that you have completed the removal procedure first.
