turned OFF during filming, the camera
will stop running. Continue to monitor the
sound while filming.
Hold the camera steady to prevent
shaky movies. Suggestions: Put
your right hand through the strap (for
security) and around the grip, your right
index finger on the shutter trigger. Use
your left hand for steadying the upper
part of the camera and for zooming. Press
your right elbow against your body and
keep your feet slightly apart, one ahead of
the other. In panning to follow your sub
ject’s movement, shift only the upper part
of your body. The ideal, when possible, is
to mount the camera on a tripod (via
tripod socket and to use a remote
switch (see pp. 44—46).
