External Power Jack ®

This is for attaching an external power

source, such as the Canon Power Pack
9V (see OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES). An

external power source is useful for filming

under conditions, such as very low tem­
peratures (see p. 56), when the camera's

batteries might fail.
