Use this foot to insert piping into seams or edges of projects. It can also be used to create piping
by covering cord. The foot has two grooves on the underside: Use the left groove to insert piping
from the left, or use the right side to insert piping from the right.

To stitch piping into a seam:

To create piping:

1. Set the machine for straight stitch, center needle position.
2. Snap on the piping foot.
3. Set the piping in position along the seam line on the right side of the fabric. Place the second

piece of fabric on top of the first, right sides together, with raw edges even.

4. Place the fabric and piping under the piping foot, aligning the piping with the groove on the

underside of the foot.

5. Set the machine for straight stitch, making sure that the needle clears the hole on the foot.
6. As you sew, the groove on the underside of the foot will guide the piping.

1. Cut bias fabric strips wide enough to cover the cord, making sure to include seam allowances in

the measurement.

2. Set the machine for straight stitch, center needle position.
3. Place the cording on the wrong side of the fabric strip, then wrap the fabric over the cord so the

raw edges are even.

4. Place the fabric and cord under the piping foot, with the cord in the groove on the underside of

the foot.

5. As you sew, the groove on the underside of the foot will guide the piping.
