USING AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE

13. Using An External Hard Drive

Reference

● The capacity of the USB external hard drive should be larger than 100GB.

● Connect both the NVSPRO+ and the USB external hard drive to their AC power

adapters. If the NVSPRO+ is used to copy to another NEXTO backup device

(via the USB adapter cable) the NVSPRO+ will not need to be connected to

the AC power adapter. (Other Nexto backup devices include the NextoDI

eXtreme ND2700, the Nexto Video Storage ND2725, etc.)

1. Connecting an external USB hard drive

Connect an external USB hard drive using the supplied USB mini-B cable during

“XCopy ready” mode. Connect the larger plug to the eSATAp/USB combo port of

the NVSPRO+. The NVSPRO+ will detect the device and check the external hard drive.

The NVSPRO+ allows a user to copy a memory card to both the NVSPRO+ hard

drive and to an eSATAp/USB external hard drive at the same time, making two

copies of data in a single operation. The NVSPRO+ provides “Multi-copy” and

“Sync” functions to make backup more reliable.

2. Connecting an external eSATAp hard drive

Connect the external eSATAp hard drive using the supplied eSATAp (Power over

eSATA) cable during “XCopy ready” mode. Connect the cable to the eSATAp/USB

combo port of the NVSPRO+. The NVSPRO+ will detect the device and check the

external hard drive.
