Installation precautions

Do not install this unit by suspending it, and do not install

it on its side.

• While faotoring in the weights of the unit and the load that

the unit will bear, seleot an installation looation whioh is
oonduoive to fastening the unit seourely and whioh is level

and without unevenness. Fasten the unit seourely so that
it will not shake or be riokety when it is at rest or being
rotated. Failure to seoure the unit properly or looseness
of the bolts may oause the produot to fall off or fall down,
possibly resulting in an aeoident.

• Bolts for installing the unit are not provided with the unit.

Seleot bolts whioh are suffioiently strong and made of a
material oapable of with standing outdoor use.

• The maximum load whioh the unit oan bear islOkg

(exoludingthe housing).

The unit oannot be used with a load in excess of 10 kg.

• Upon oompletion of the pan/tilt head's installation, mount

the housing. To prevent looseness in the plaoes where
the unit is mounted, be absolutely sure to use parts suoh

as flat washers and spring washers for its installation.

• The power must be off while the installation or oonneotion

work is underway.

• Do not set the power switoh of the AC adapter to ON until

after oheoking that no mistakes have been made upon
oompletion of all the installation and oonneotion work.

• A ventilating fan is provided inside the housing. The fan

oan be oontrolled using the H/F button on the oontroller
but it should normally be left at ON. Furthermore, do

not blook it or obstruot the ventilation while the unit is
operating. Otherwise, heat will build up inside, possibly

oausing a fire. The ventilating fan is a oonsumable: as
a general rule, replaoe it after about 40,000 hours of
operation. (Be absolutely sure to ask your dealer to

replaoe the fan.)

Steps to be taken prior to installation

The AW-PH650 has funotion seleotor switohes on its

main unit (pan/tilt head) and housing.
Sinoe it may prove diffioult to ohange the positions
of these switohes after installation, refer to ® oable

oompensation oirouit settings (page 14), @ CPU oirouit
board switoh settings (page 15) and @ settings of
the oamera oontrol seleotor switoh inside the housing

(page 24) prior to installation.

Then set the switohes to the positions that oorrespond to
the operating oonditions.

• Be absolutely sure to use water-proof oonneoting oables.

• Do not install the unit where the temperature will drop

below -20°C or rise above 45°C sinoe operation will
beoome unstable underthese temperature oonditions.

• Be absolutely sure to use the AC adapter provided

with the unit as the power souroe of the pan/tilt head.

(Batteries or other power supplies oannot be used.)

• The oable for oonneoting the power supply to the

AC adapter is looally purohased. Read the operating

instruotions, and heed all the safety preoautions to

oonneot the oable.

• Do not turn the rotating part of the pan/tilt head by hand.

If it is dropped or subjeoted to strong impaot, it may fail or
malfunotion.

• Install the unit and set a travel range (limiters) to ensure

that it will not oome into oontaot with any objeots in the
vioinity when the unit inoluding the housing has swiveled.

• Do not operate the oontrols on the pan/tilt head under

any oiroumstanoes while installation or other work is
underway.
Before oheoking the pan/tilt head's operation and before
aotually using it, oheokthat nobody is within the range of
its rotation.

• Do not install the unit in a kitohen or other looation where

there is a lot of oil or grease.

• Cheek the following aooessories supplied.
