meters of the external equipment while adjusting the GAIN pots on the rear panel of DigiCart/E. The Gain
pots have an adjustment range of +/- 0.5dB.
Disk Maintenance
Internal hard disk maintenance is limited to functions such as Format Disk, Partition Drive, Rename, and
Update Directories, which are all covered under Utility Menu Features beginning on page 30.
Program Updates
From time to time, 360 Systems may release new versions of the DigiCart/E operating system program that
can be installed by the user via either a Zip disk or a file on the Ethernet Audio server. Compare your
current version number to the listing on 360 Systems’ web site to determine whether to install an update.
Zip disk program updates must be ordered from 360 Systems Customer Service Department because
DigiCart/E recorders require a specially formatted disk. It will always be faster to download the update
from our web site.
To check the current version number, press the ENTER button while DigiCart/E is idle (stopped and not in a
menu mode). The current version number will appear on the top line of the command line display.
U PDATE THE P ROGRAM FROM A N ETWORK S ERVER
Download the program file, named “DCSYS.360”, from www.360systems.com to any PC or Mac
computer. Move or copy the file to one of the exported DigiCart base directories on a DigiCart/E network
server. A base directory is the directory that the server makes available to DigiCarts, and which can be seen
with the Mount Network Drive utility.
From DigiCart, make the drive containing the program file the current drive.
Be certain the DigiCart is in the idle state. Press and hold UTILITY , then press HOT KEY 1 concurrently.
You will be prompted to confirm, “Write system from disk?” Press ENTER to continue.
The update will take approximately 10 seconds. Upon completion, DigiCart should report, “Flash Update
Success”.
Turn off the power switch, wait a moment, and then restart DigiCart/E. The new program will now be
current.
U PDATE THE P ROGRAM FROM A Z IP D ISK
After obtaining a specially formatted Zip disk with the operating system program from 360 Systems, insert
it into the DigiCart/E Zip drive slot.
Make Drive 0 (the Zip drive) the current drive.
Be certain the DigiCart is in the idle state. Press and hold UTILITY , then press HOT KEY 1 concurrently.
You will be prompted to confirm, “Write system from disk?” Press ENTER to continue.
The update will take approximately 10 seconds. Upon completion, DigiCart should report, “Flash Update
Success”.
Turn off the power switch, wait a moment, and then restart DigiCart/E. The new program will now be
current.
