Pager Installation and Configuration

8.1 WaveWare Paging Base Installation

The WaveWare paging base is a 5 watt paging base station programmed for
469.6500 MHz POCSAG compliant pagers.

To install the WaveWare paging base:

1

Mount the paging base.

• Generally, it’s best to mount the paging base in an elevated position,

away from metal.

• The paging base is shipped with a six foot serial cable. However, the base

station can be mounted up to 20 feet from the Radius server if needed.

2

Attach the supplied antenna to the paging base.

Caution:

Do not test the paging base without the antenna attached. Doing so can harm
the paging base.

3

Plug the paging base’s serial cable into COM 2 on the Radius server.

• The COM port settings for the Radius process creation are 9600/8/1/N.

The port settings are set by default.
