The LAN environment

Connects the TCfW client to the KCS server
Provides printing facilities (queues) to the KCS server to print out inbound messages

automatically

Sends break messages to the users informing them of inbound messages or other

events

Provides a File API to applications for sending and receiving messages.

The PABX environment

Integrates existing fax machines connected to DID extensions
Informs the user about the status of his or her mailbox (message waiting signal on the

user's telephone set)

Delivers DID information to KCS for automatic routing of incoming messages.
