UNIVERSAL BEC

MODULES

Novak BECs (Battery Eliminator Circuits) regulate the main

battery pack voltages to 6VDC output, to provide safe and

consistent servo & receiver power throughout the charge

without the need for a separate receiver pack.
Input Voltage Specification:

#5460 3A & #5465 5A BECs ................... 2S LiPo / 6-8 NiMH cells

#5463 3A High-Voltage BEC.............. 2-7S LiPo / 4-22 NiMH cells

WARNING! Always make sure the main battery pack is fully-

charged before operating model. This BEC can NOT supply

power to the radio system & you will NOT have control of

model if main battery pack becomes discharged or fails.

In no way shall Novak Electronics, Inc. be responsible or liable

for any damage or loss which may occur from use of this product.

GENERAL INSTALLATION:

1. Find a space in your vehicle to mount the BEC that is close to

the main battery pack & receiver. Use the included tie-wraps

or double-sided tape to mount the BEC and its power switch.

2. Find a convenient place to solder the BEC’s RED & BLACK

power wires to the vehicle’s main battery pack--to the battery

connector, or ESC’s positive & negative solder tabs where

battery

/

power capacitor wires are soldered in electric vehicle.

Shorten the BEC’s power wires if possible.

3. Plug the 3-pin JST connector on the BEC’s power output

lead into any open slot in the receiver. Make sure the polarity

is correct--the black wire will be towards the outside on most

receivers and the red will be towards the center of the receiver.

4. For Electric Vehicle Installations, remove the RED wire

from the speed control’s input signal harness. Insulate the

removed wire to avoid short circuits, as this wire is “live”.

BEC OPERATION:

1. With a fully-charged battery pack connected to ESC, slide the

ESC’s power switch to ON position

(powers up ESC’s electronics)

.

2. Slide BEC’s power switch to ON position

(BEC powers servo/receiver)

.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

If there is no power, check the following:

• Check power wire connections from battery to ESC and BEC unit.

• Check that BEC output harness is properly connected to receiver.

• Check that both BEC and speed control are switched ON.
PRODUCT WARRANTY:

Novak R/C, Inc. guarantees all products to be free

from defects in materials or workmanship for a period of 120 days from original date

of purchase (verified by dated, itemized sales receipt). In no case shall our liability

exceed the products original cost. Warranty does not cover water damage, use with

incorrect number of cells, incorrect installation, short-circuiting, failure of main battery

pack, or any damage to other electronics used in conjunction with BEC, including

damage caused by a crash, flooding, or natural disaster. No liability may be assumed

nor will be accepted for any damage resulting from the use of this product. In no case

shall our liability exceed the product’s original cost. We reserve the right to modify
