Switching Temporarily to Tone Dialing

Many information services for banks, airline reservations, hotel reservations, etc., require tone dialing for their
services. If your machine is connected to a rotary pulse line, follow this procedure to set the machine temporarily
for tone dialing:

Press FAX to set to Fax Mode.

Ex:

Pick up the handset of your telephone.

Enter a destination using the numeric keys
on your telephone or using a one-touch
speed dialing key, coded speed dialing
code, Redial/Pause key or the numeric keys
on the machine.

When the recorded message of the
information service answers, press

T

(Tone) to switch to tone dialing.

Ex:
• When

T (Tone) is pressed, T is displayed in the

LCD.

• If your telephone line uses tone dialing, go to the

next step.

Use the numeric keys on the machine to
enter the numbers requested by the
information service.

Ex:
• Numbers entered after pressing

T (Tone) will be

dialed using tone dialing.

• After pressing

T (Tone), you cannot use the

numeric keys on the telephone. Use the numeric
keys on the machine.

If you want to receive faxes, press Start.

Hang up to disconnect the call.

• Tone dialing is canceled when you disconnect the

call.
