CONTROLS AND OPERATION
CONTROLS
Know the riding mower before you operate
it. Carefuily review this manual and
become thoroughly familiar with the
operating procedures and safety
precautions.
Figures 24,25,26,27 & 28 show you the
location of all primary controls on your
riding mower. See below for descriptions.
A — ENGINE SPEED LEVER. Controls the
engine speed. Down decreases engine
speed, up increases engine speed, ail the
way up places the engine in CHOKE. For
best performance, always run the engine
at full throttle. USE CHOKE POSITION FOR
STARTING ONLY.
B — BRAKE PEDAL. Stops the forward or
rearward motion of the mower. IT DOES
NOT STOP THE ROTATION OF THE
MOWER BLADES.
C — PARKING BRAKE (BRAKE LOCK).
Push the brake pedal (B) all the way down
and push brake lock (C, Fig. 26) to the
right to apply the parking brake. To disen
gage, push the brake pedal down and
release.
D —IGNITION KEYSWITCH. The
keyswitch has three positions - OFF, RUN,
and START.
E — DRIVE PEDAL. Engages the forward
or rearward motion of the riding mower.
F — MOWER BLADE DRIVE LEVER.
Engages drive to the mower deck blade(s).
To engage, lift lever and move it to the left
into the detent. To disengage, lift lever,
push it to the right, and slowly release.
NOTE; DISENGAGE MOWER BLADE
DRIVE WHENEVER THE CUHING BLADES
ARE NOT IN USE.
G — MOWER HEIGHT ADJUSTING KNOB.
This knob allows you to select infinitely
variable cutting heights for the mower
deck. Twisting clockwise raises mower,
counter-clockwise lowers mower.
H — TRANSMISSION SHIFT LEVER.
Allows you to select either reverse.
