Maintenance

For Engine Maintenance, Please Refer to the Engine
Manufacturer's Owner's Manual.

IMPORTANT: Because of the conditions the DR

®

TRIMMER/MOWER

is used in, air

filters and oil should be changed more frequently than is recommended in your Engine
Manufacturer's Owner's Manual. Please follow these recommendations:

Paper Air Cartridge

Should be replaced every 25 hours of operation.

Oil

Should be drained and replaced every 25 hours of operation.

Regular Maintenance

Regular maintenance is the best way to ensure the best performance and long life of your machine.
Below is a list of recommended maintenance procedures.

WARNING: Always allow the engine to cool completely and remove the spark plug wire before

performing any maintenance procedures.

Caution: Do not tip the trimmer back on its handlebar to access the underside unless you first

drain the gas and oil.

Clean any debris from the top and bottom of the machine, cylinder head fins, blower housing,
finger guard, and muffler areas with a brush or rag.

·

Replace the air filter(s).

·

Replace the spark plug.

·

Check the Mow-Ball

Support assembly and clean out any debris wrapped around the shaft.

·

Drop the bearing housing and clean out any debris. Check for burrs on the pulley.

·

Lubricate the engine throttle cable, trimmer control cable, and idler pulley with FLUID FILM

®

or a similar lubricant.

·

Check the Mow-Ball

Support and cutting height adjustment disks for wear, and replace them if

necessary.

·

Replace broken or frayed cutting cords.

·

Check the belt for fraying or stretching. Replace it if necessary.

·

Check the bolts and nuts on the bearing housing assembly. If they are loose, tighten them with a
1/2" wrench or socket. Check occasionally throughout the season to be sure they're secure.
