Ready 12 V and 24 V indicator flashing, fault indicator flashing:
Cause:

Mains fault - mains voltage outside the tolerance range

Remedy:

Check mains conditions

Ready 12 V and 24 V indicator on, fault indicator flashing:
Cause:

Short in charging circuit

Remedy:

Check charger leads, contacts and battery poles

Cause:

Charger leads connected to wrong poles

Remedy:

Connect battery poles correctly

Cause:

Connection fault

Remedy:

Check charging circuit

Fault indicator flashing (3x pattern)
Cause:

Faulty fuse when two batteries are being charged together. Where possible,
one of the two batteries will continue to be charged.

Remedy:

Replace fuse in battery, for more information on the defective fuse function
see the "Charging the battery" section.

Charging error

Fault indicator flashing, charge level indicator flashing:
Charger switches off during charging

Cause:

Battery temperature or ambient temperature too low or too high. Under-/over-
temperature protection active

Remedy:

Allow charger to cool down. Charging will recommence automatically once
the charger has cooled sufficiently. If not, have it checked by a workshop

Cause:

Timeout in the corresponding charging phase, or battery capacity too high

Remedy:

Select correct synergic line type according to the leaflet and charge again

Cause:

Battery faulty (cell short circuit, heavy sulphation)

Remedy:

Check battery and replace if necessary

WARNING! An electric shock can be fatal. Before opening the device:

Unplug the device from the mains

Disconnect battery connection

Put up an easy-to-understand warning sign to stop anybody inadvertently
switching it back on again

Using a suitable measuring instrument, check to make sure that electrically
charged parts (e.g. capacitors) have been discharged

CAUTION! Failure to connect a correctly-dimensioned earth lead may result in
serious injury or damage. The housing screws provide a suitable PE conductor
connection for earthing (grounding) the housing and must NOT be replaced by
any other screws that do not provide a reliable PE conductor connection.
