– Clean preparation, e.g. with a brush, rubber cup, and
cleaning paste.
– Dentin surfaces must be clean and dry. Keep the work-
ing area dry (e.g. cotton rolls).
– Apply Telio CS Desensitizer and gently brush the materi-
al into the dentin for 10 seconds using a suitable instru-
ment (brush, applicator brush).
– Carefully disperse excess to a thin layer with blown air /
dry with an air syringe. Do not overdry the dentin.
– Try in restoration.
– Seat restoration with a suitable cementation material
(phosphate cement, glass ionomer cement, carboxylate
cement, reinforced glass ionomer cement).
Notes:
– Coating of enamel areas with Telio CS Desensitizer does
not create any problems and does not affect the subse-
quent treatment steps and materials being used (thor-
oughly remove excess desensitizer / dry).
3. Direct restorations
a) Application in conjunction with amalgam, glass-
ionomer cement restorative materials, etc
– Prepare cavity, excavate caries.
– Dentin surfaces must be dry and clean. Keep working
area dry (rubber dam, e.g. OptraDam ® Plus)
– Apply Telio CS Desensitizer and gently brush the materi-
al into the dentin for 10 seconds using a suitable instru-
ment (brush, applicator brush). (Coating of enamel with
Telio CS Desensitizer does not create any problems and
does not affect the subsequent treatment steps and
materials being used).
– Carefully disperse excess to a thin layer with blown air /
dry with an air syringe. Do not overdry the dentin.
– Apply a base / liner, if necessary.
– Fabricate restoration with a suitable restorative material.
b) Application in conjunction with dentin adhesives:
Telio CS Desensitizer may also be used in conjunc-
tion with dentin adhesives. In this case, Telio CS
Desensitizer acts as a rewetting agent that
restores the appropriate moisture contents of the
dentin after drying or even overdrying.
– Apply Telio CS Desensitizer by brushing it into the
dentin for 10 seconds
– Disperse excess with a slow stream of blown air
– Dry using the air gun
– Apply the adhesive according to the instructions of the
manufacturer
Warning:
Telio CS Desensitizer contains glutaraldehyde and is haz-
ardous to health if swallowed or inhaled. Avoid contact
with the skin, mucous membrane and the eyes. If the
material comes into contact with the eyes, immediately
rinse with copious amounts of water and seek medical
advice. Repeated contact of the material with the skin or
inhalation may result in sensitization. Commercially avail-
able medical gloves do not provide protection against the
sensitizing effect of methacrylates.
Storage:
– Shelf life: see date of expiration on label/packaging
– Do not use Telio CS Desensitizer after the date of expi-
ration.
– Immediately close the bottle after use.
– Storage temperature: 2-28°C (36 – 82°F).
