Instructions for Use
Description
Plaque Test is a disclosing liquid used to reveal
plaque on the surfaces of natural and restored
teeth as well as implants. Under a polymerization
light, e.g. bluephase
® , plaque appears fluorescent
yellow after Plaque Test has been applied.
Composition
Fluorescin disodium salt < 1 wt.%, glycerine and
distilled water.
Indication
Exposure of plaque on tooth surfaces.
Contraindication
If patients are known to be allergic to any of the
ingredients in Plaque Test, the material should not
be applied.
Side effects
None known to date.
Application
Use Plaque Test to selectively stain biofilm on
teeth. This measure is particularly recommended to
reveal retention niches for plaque during
orthodontic treatment or if restorations or implants
are present. The fluorescent pigment does not stain
teeth, soft tissue and restorations. Only the plaque-
coated areas glow under the light of a
polymerization unit. This method can also be used
in the determination of plaque indices.
Step by Step
1. Apply Plaque Test generously on all tooth
surfaces using a cotton swab.
2. Instruct the patient to rinse. Plaque Test
adheres to areas covered with plaque.
3. Shine a polymerization light, e.g. bluephase on
the teeth. Plaque covered with the disclosing
liquid has a fluorescent yellow appearance.
4. Remove plaque by brushing the teeth or by
professional tooth cleaning using Proxyt ®
pastes.
Note
The glycerine gives Plaque Test a sweet taste. The
disclosing liquid is sugarless.
Storage
– Close bottle immediately after use.
– Shelf life: see label / packaging.
– Do not use Plaque Test after the indicated date
of expiration.
– Storage temperature: 2–28 °C/36–82 °F.

taten dient. Bei Bestrahlen mit einer Polymerisa-
tionslampe, z.B. bluephase
® , fluoresziert vorhan-
dene Plaque nach Bestreichen mit Plaque Test gelb.
Zusammensetzung
Fluorescein-Dinatriumsalz < 1 Gew.%, Glycerin und
Aqua dest.
Indikation
Visualisierung von Plaque auf der Zahnoberfläche
Kontraindikation
Bei bekannter Allergie auf einen oder mehrere
Inhaltsstoffe ist auf die App likation von Plaque Test
zu verzichten.
Nebenwirkungen
Bisher keine bekannt
Anwendung
Mit Plaque Test den Biofilm gezielt einfärben. Diese
Massnahme wird besonders während einer kiefer-
orthopädischen Behandlung, bei Restaurationen
oder Implantaten empfohlen, um Retentions-
nischen für Plaque sichtbar zu machen. Zähne,
Weichgewebe oder Restaurationen werden mit
dem fluoreszierenden Farbstoff nicht angefärbt.
Unter der Polimerisationslampe leuchten nur die
Plaquezonen. Im Rahmen der Aufnahme eines
Plaqueindex kann diese Methode ebenfalls
angewendet werden.
