Attach Plate

English

Locate the spot where you’d like to connect the Klamp Vise™ Plate.

The workbench/workpiece must be at least 1” thick and at most 2”

thick*. It must be sturdy enough to handle considerable clamping

force. Use either the 1” ¼-20 Phillips Pan Head screws for metal

surfaces or the #14 x 1-1/2 Phillips Woodscrews for wood surfaces to

secure the plate in place.

Separate the Plastic Glide Pad from its paper backing. Then, carefully

center and adhere the pad to the base of the Bench Klamp™. Any

part of the pad which extends beyond the Bench Klamp’s base may be

trimmed off, using a pair of scissors. Then, insert the Anchoring Screw

into the base of the Bench Klamp™. Start with the Anchoring Screw

roughly ½ of the way in, and test it on the Klamp Vise™ Plate. If the

connection is too tight, the Bench Klamp™ will not be able to move

freely across the trak. If the connection is too loose, the clamp may

catch as you slide it across the track.

Kreg Bench Dogs are easy to use and

even easier to install. They fit into any

existing ¾” workbench dog hole. If your

bench does not have bench dog holes,

use a ¾” wood spade or brad-point bit

to drill your own. Location of the holes

should vary to accommodate a variety of

workpiece sizes. You may also attach the

optional Bench Brakes™ on top of the

Bench Dogs. These simple rubber pieces

give you a solid slip-free work surface for

sanding, routing, and sawing.

There are a wide variety of practical applications for the Klamp Vise™.

You can use it in traditional vise type applications, vertical clamping,

horizontal clamping, for large workpieces and small. Try the Klamp

Vise™ in conjunction with other Klamp System™ components (including

the Klamp Plate™, Klamp Trak™, Large Bench Klamp™, etc.) for the

best possible clamping solution.

Klamp Blocks

Klamp Blocks™ are designed to help you get the correct workpiece

height when using the Klamp Vise™ for traditional vise-type

applications where your workpiece is in the vertical position. There

are 4 dimensions listed on each Klamp Block™ (1-1/2”, 2”, 2-1/2”, 3”),

which relate to the distance between the edge of the Klamp Block™

and center point where the Bench Klamp™ contacts the workpiece.

After you’ve chosen your Klamp Block™ setting, insert the t-bolt into

the alignment tab opposite the marking (image shown setting for

1-1/2”) and secure it in place using the plastic nut.
