Preamble T ype
The “Long Preamble” can provi de
bett er wirel ess LAN compatibilit y while
the “Short Preambl e” can provide
bett er wirel ess LAN perf ormance.
Broadc ast ESSID
If you enable “Broadcas t ESSID”, ever y
wireless st ation loc ated within the
coverage of t his acc ess point c an
discover t his acc ess point easil y. I f you
are building a public wireless network,
enabling this f eat ure is rec ommended.
Disabling “Broadc ast ESSID” can
provide better s ecurit y.
IAPP
If you enable “IAPP”, it will allow
wireless st ation roaming bet ween IAPP
enabled acc ess points wit hin t he s ame
wireless LAN.
802.11g
Protecti on
This is also c alled CTS Prot ection. It is
recommended to enable the protecti on
mec hanis m. T his mechanis m can
decreas e t he r ate of dat a c ollision
bet ween 802.11b and 802.11g wireless
stations. When t he prot ection mode is
enabled, t he t hroughput of the AP will
be a little lower due t o many of frame
traffic should be trans mitt ed.
Click Appl y butt on at the bottom of the screen t o save t he
above configurations. You can now configure other advanc e
sections or st art using t he Access Point.
