Chapter 4 Removing and replacing FRUs
Removing floppy, CD, DVD drives
To remove any drive, first remove the top cover as described in the previous
procedure, then proceed as illustrated.
To remove the full-width drives, such as the CD and DVD drives, also remove the
Front Panel or door as described in previous procedures. This creates clearance for the
drive mounting tab.
Procedures for removing the different drives from the drive bay are similar, as
illustrated by the following procedure for the 3.5 inch floppy drive.
