2. Lower the output tray at the front of the printer; then, holding
the tab on the cover, open the printer cover. You see the

3. Hold down both the

and
:
cleaning buttons for more than
three seconds until the print heads moves slightly to the
left, which is the black ink cartridge replacement position.
The
2
power light flashes.
If you want to replace the color ink cartridge, press the
:
cleaning button again after the print heads have moved.
The print heads move to the color ink cartridge
replacement position.

Caution:
Do not move the print heads by hand. Always press the
;
cleaning or the
:
cleaning button to move them; otherwise
you may damage the printer.
Note:
The printer automatically moves the print heads back to their
home (far right) position after 60 seconds if you have not started
the procedure.
4. Complete the ink cartridge replacement procedure as
described from step 4 of “Replacing an Ink Cartridge” on
page 9-5.
