WARNING! Risk of Fire! Keep combustible materials,

gasoline and other flammable vapors and liquids clear of

the fireplace.
DO NOT:

• store flammable materials close to the fireplace

• use gasoline, lantern fuel, kerosene, charcoal lighter

fluid or similar liquids to start or “freshen up” a fire in this

fireplace.

B. General Information

Fireplaces, as well as other woodburning appliances, have

been used safely for many years. It has been our experi-

ence that most problems are caused by improper installa-

tion and operation of the fireplace. Make certain that instal-

lation and operation of the fireplace system is in accordance

with these instructions.
It is extremely important that the fire be supervised when-

ever the fireplace is in use. It is also recommended that an

annual inspection be performed on the fireplace system to

determine if the flue system needs to be cleaned, or as in

the case of any appliance, if minor repairs are required to

maintain the system in top operating condition.

INCORRECT POSITIONS

Ensure correct baffle placement and replace baffle compo-

nents if damaged or missing.

Firebox damage due to improper baffle placement is not

covered by warranty. Operate the wood burning appliance

with the baffle in the correct position only. Not doing so

could result in:

• Reduced efficiency

• Overheating the chimney

• Overheating the rear of the firebox

• Poor performance

Ceramic Blanket and Baffle Board MUST be in contact

with the back of the firebox and even with each other in

the front. Baffle Protection Channel MUST be in position.

The firebox of your fireplace is lined with high quality

firebrick, which has exceptional insulating properties.

Do Not use a grate; simply build a fire on the firebox

floor. Do not operate the fireplace without bricks. Make

sure bricks are installed as shown in Section 4, page 25.
