Peer-to-Peer Configuration

Peer-to-peer printing is more suitable for smaller networks. With peer-to-

peer printing, you configure your Windows 95, Windows 98, or

Windows NT 4.0/2000 systems to print directly to the printer.

Installing the Printer on a Network with an
HP JetDirect Print Server (Recommended)

Your printer can be shared in a network environment by connecting it
directly to the network via an HP JetDirect external or internal print

server. This configuration provides better performance than printing

through a computer, as well as flexibility in preparing a location for the

printer.
The HP JetDirect print server can be used in both client-server and peer-
to-peer network configurations.
