Adjusting Engine Speed

Y

Stop engine.

Engine speeds have been factory
set and should not require adjust-
ment. After tuning engine, check
engine speeds with a tachometer.
See table for proper no load
speeds. If necessary, adjust
speeds as follows:

Idle Speed Adjustment

Throttle Solenoid

Adjustment Rod

Throttle Rod

Disconnect throttle rod from
adjustment rod.

Locknut

Loosen locknuts.

Start engine, and place Engine
Control switch in Run/Idle position.

Throttle Lever

Push lever forward until engine
runs at idle speed. While holding le-
ver in the idle position, reconnect
throttle rod to adjustment rod. Tight-
en locknuts.

Weld/Power Speed Adjustment

Place Engine Control switch in Run
position.

Protective Cap

Locknut

Remove cap and loosen locknut.

Injection Pump Adjustment
Rod

Turn rod until engine runs at weld/
power speed. Tighten locknut.

Y

Stop engine.

Reinstall protective cap.

Close side door.
