Problem Possible cause Remedy
The dishes are not
clean.
The program selected
was not strong enough. Select a more intensive
program; see the “Pro-
gram chart” for guide-
lines.
The spray arm jets are
clogged. Clean the spray arms,
see “Cleaning the spray
arms”.
The combination filter in-
side the dishwasher is not
clean or not inserted cor-
rectly. Clean and/or reseat the
filter, see “Cleaning the
dishwasher filters”.
The spray arms are
blocked. Rearrange dishes so that
spray arms rotate freely.
The drain pump or
non-return valve may be
blocked. See “Cleaning the drain
pump and non-return
valve”.
Too little water may be
entering the dishwasher. See “Checking the water
level” and increase the
water intake time if neces-
sary.
Tea, coffee, or lipstick
stains have not been
completely removed.
The selected wash tem-
perature was too low. Select a program with a
higher wash temperature.
Old or non-chlorinated
detergent was used. Use fresh detergent con-
taining chlorine.
Plastic items are
stained.
Natural dyes from carrots,
tomatoes or ketchup may
stain plastics. The amount
or type of detergent used
was not strong enough to
deal with these dyes. Use an adequate amount
of detergent containing
chlorine. See “Adding de-
tergent”.
There are smears on
glasses and cutlery, or a
bluish sheen on the sur-
face of glasses. The film
can be wiped off by
hand.
The rinse aid dosage set-
ting is too high. Reduce the dosage. See
“Adding rinse aid
”.
