• Good low-end torque with over 85 percent of the engine’s

peak torque available from as low as 1500 rpm

• Includes a combination of technologies to provide the

added horsepower and torque so important to Super Duty

buyers who haul or tow:
Variable Camshaft Timing optimizes the timing of the

intake and exhaust valves during the combustion cycle.
This lets the engine deliver performance tailored to the
load applied, with increased power for brisk acceleration
or times of high demand

Charge Motion Control Valves are specially shaped metal

flaps at the intake port that speed up the airflow and
create a tumble effect in the combustion chamber, for
excellent low-speed combustion

6.8L 3V SOHC Triton V-10

• The segment’s most powerful gasoline engine with

362 horsepower and 457 lb.-ft. of torque

Short/Long Intake Runner design features long runners

for lower engine rpm operation to speed up airflow and
provide maximum torque, and short runners for higher
engine rpm to provide unrestricted high-velocity air intake
for efficient cylinder filling and maximum power

3-valves-per-cylinder design features two intake valves and

one exhaust valve allowing the engine “breathe” almost as
well as high-performance 4-valve designs but without the
additional weight and complexity

Electronic Throttle Control is also known as “drive-by-wire.”

Translates accelerator motions and other inputs into control
of engine power. The accelerator pedal controls the throttle
by means of a computer-controlled stepping motor in lieu
of a conventional linkage from pedal to throttle. It works by
integrating throttle movements with the vehicle’s electronically
controlled functions such as cruise control or idle speed. It
enhances control, driveability and performance
