F-250/F-350 Front Suspensions

Proven Twin I-Beam with coil springs front suspension

design is used on all F-250/F-350 4x2 Super Duty

®

pickups

– Twin I-Beam design combines the strength of a solid

I-Beam suspension with the flexibility and comfort of
a fully independent suspension

– Coil springs provide a smoother ride than leaf springs

without sacrificing load-carrying capacity

– Front bushings stiffer than previously
– Front stabilizer bars redesigned with new links for improved

ride and handling

– Front Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) increased to

5250 lbs.

Robust twin-coil monobeam front axle/suspension design is

used on all F-250/F-350 4x4 pickup models
– Twin-coil monobeam front suspension combined with the

steering system design provides tight turning diameters and
reduced parking effort. Loaded or unloaded cornering and
maneuverability are more precise

– Gives a smoother ride than a leaf-spring design

• 6000-lb. maximum front GAWR (F-250/F-350)

F-450 Front Suspension

Wide-frame twin-coil monobeam front suspension from

F-450 Chassis Cab is standard on all F-450 Pickups and
available on F-350 DRW Crew Cab with 8.0-foot box (67W)
– Twin-coil monobeam front suspension combined with the

steering system design provides tight turning diameters and
reduced parking effort. Loaded or unloaded cornering and
maneuverability are more precise

– Gives a smoother ride than a leaf-spring design

• Large 35mm front stabilizer bar
• Large, square axle tubes are designed to deliver improved

towing performance and capability

• 7000-lb. maximum front GAWR

Leaf-spring Rear Suspension

• Provides the same high levels of capability with

increased refinement

• Leaf springs are 8 inches longer than previously and attach

farther forward on the frame

• Stiffer bushings and redesigned rear linkage
• Staggered rear shock absorbers help contribute to better

ride and confident handling, loaded or unloaded

• Contributes to confident feel of the vehicle
• Reduces power hop and brake hop
• Keeps the rear end lower to accommodate towing taller

gooseneck and fifth-wheel trailers

• Helps reduce front and rear body lean when cornering
