road and powertrain noise.
• Quieter diesel engine is a result of fine tuning to reduce
diesel clatter and ensure quiet, smooth operation at high
and low speeds
• Class-exclusive (1) Quiet Steel ®(2) dash panel — composite
laminated steel sheet works with extra sound padding in the
dash and floor to provide a foundation for the quiet cabin
• Sound-damping back panel improves occupants’ ability to
carry on a conversation
• Expandable “gull wings” inside the fenders just in front of
the doors, work with the Quiet Steel (2) dash panel to reduce
unwanted road and wind noise
• Thick side glass helps minimize wind noise
• Redesigned climate control system reduces number and size
of openings in the bulkhead, improving interior quietness
• Improved instrument panel seal helps reduce
powertrain noise
• Redesigned exhaust system is tuned for refinement with
a pleasing, tough truck sound
