5.3.1 Interface

Commands

(Alphabetical Listing)

*CLS

Clear Interface Command

Input: *CLS[term]
Remarks:

Clears the bits in the Status Byte Register and Standard Event Status Register and terminates all
pending operations. Clears the interface, but not the instrument. The related instrument command
is *RST.

*ESE

Standard Event Status Enable Register Command

Input:

*ESE <bit weighting>[term]

Format: nnn

Remarks:

The Standard Event Status Enable Register determines which bits in the Standard Event Status
Register will set the summary bit in the Status Byte. This command programs the enable register using
a decimal value that corresponds to the binary-weighted sum of all bits in the register. Refer to
Paragraph 5.1.4.2.1.
