Adjusting the output impedance

The four switches of the right-hand bank control the power amplifier

output impedance, to increase or reduce the damping of the loudspeaker

drive units. A larger room will often require more bass damping.

Note that decreasing the impedance increases the damping.

Protecting the speaker

Switch 6 brings a soft clipper into the bass circuit path. Use this if you

frequently play the system very loud. It allows very impressive sound

effects while protecting the drive units against extreme overdrive.

Inverting the phase response

Switch 7 inverts the phase response. Use this if the main system power

amplifier or speakers are inverting. It may also give better results if the

5150 is at the opposite end of the room from the main speakers.
