FUNCTION PROBLEMS

The engine will not return to low
idle when the welding and auxiliary
loads are removed.

1. Make sure the idler control

switch is set to the “Auto” posi-
tion.

2. Make sure both welding and

auxiliary loads are removed.

3. Check for mechanical restric-

tions in the idler and throttle link-
age.

4. While the engine is running, if

the oil pressure light is NOT lit,
the oil pressure switch may be
faulty. See the Wiring Diagram.

1. Check the idler control switch

and associated leads for loose
or faulty connections. See the
Wiring Diagram.

2. Check the reed switch CR2. It

may be stuck closed. Replace if
necessary.

3. Perform the Idler Solenoid

Test.

4. Check for loose or faulty con-

nections at the idler PC board.

5. The idler PC board may be

faulty. Replace.
