Useful Information
Problem
While recording a greeting
message, the unit starts to
ring and stops recording.
During playback, the unit
starts to ring and stops
playback.
The unit does not alert your
pager.
Cause and Remedy
≥ To answer the call, press
(DIGITAL\SP-PHONE) , or lift the handset
off the base unit or press (TALK) . Start
again from the beginning after hanging
up.
≥ To answer the call, press
(DIGITAL\SP-PHONE) , or lift the handset
off the base unit or press (TALK) . To
resume playback, press
(NEW\MESSAGE) after hanging up.
≥ The line mode selection is incorrect.

Problem
The unit does not work.
Cause and Remedy
≥ Check the settings (p. 14–17).
≥ Charge the battery fully (p. 15).
≥ Clean the charge contacts and charge
again (p. 16).
≥ Install the battery properly (p. 15, 88).
≥ Place the handset on the base unit and
unplug the AC adaptor to reset. Plug in,
and try again.
≥ KX-TC1871ALB and KX-TC1871NZB
are not designed to be used with rotary
(pulse dialling) services.
